The Laughing Bunch That I Miss
The best moments of my life have to be those spent in school with my friends as they were not just fun, but they made me smile every day. I had the best set of friends that anyone could ask for, and the best part about it is that they could turn any situation into a joyous one no matter how much trouble we were in. Remembering those moments puts a smile on my face and from time to time, I can even find myself just laughing by myself because they were so funny every second of the day.
The days just seemed to go by so fast, and I can never fully get the hang of it. One moment we were pranking the chemistry with laughing gas as he was one of those mean teachers that had never cracked a smile for the whole time that we were in high school. I remember pumping laughing gas into his office and that entire day, we could hear him laughing in his office like never before. Getting those moments on tape was something I wish I did.
How we laughed to that but you can’t imagine the trouble we would have gotten into if we had been caught. The even funnier part came when he recovered and said that he would award anyone who came forward and said he did it as in the years of his teaching, he had never had such smart students who even made their laughing gas.
…And Then It Was Graduation
Of course, we laughed that off because we knew if we ever said it was us, we’d get more than just detention. It was a moment of bliss but how those times flew by and we found ourselves with graduation gowns saying goodbye to each other never knowing if we are ever going to see each other again. I can’t say that my days are better now even with a job and things going on well for me. I miss that laughter that would lit up any room. I would trade almost everything I have just to relive those moments again.
I don’t know if I will ever be able to find such friends again, everyone around me is just serious or mad about something. The fact that my friends would make sure that there was never a moment of sadness no matter the situation we were in is what I will never forget about them. Laughter is the best medicine, and I think that that is the truest statement ever.
As long as you have laughter around you, then your life is complete because no matter how hard things get, you know you will still smile through it. I met a couple of them some time back at a company retreat and having to relive those high school moments again for whatever short period it was truly amazing., they haven’t changed a bit and came up with even better jokes about what they have been up to and for a while I was euphoric again.
Those Moments Were Over…
Moving on with life is hard and boring because you lack the right kind of people that will make you laugh and help you get through the day. I remember once we were bundled up into the principal’s office to be punished and he told us that for our punishment, we must make him laugh too. If we couldn’t get him to laugh, then we would be served a two-week suspension each, and our parents would be called to the school.
At first, that seemed like the hardest thing to do until one of my friends started laughing. He had one of those laughs that the instant he started laughing, it would take anyone around him a second to start laughing too. So, there we were, four of us plus the principal, laughing our heads off.
What we were laughing at, no one ever knew until my friend told us later on why he was laughing. He was laughing at the fact that we are never going to be able to get out of this and how we were finally ruined. Ell, that did get the principal to laugh, and we got off of that that cheaply. I guess he also wanted a dose of that medicine called laughter too.
